The aim of Comlongon Rocks is clear and simple; to provide a safe, well organised and policed family friendly local music event that forms strong bonds with community, allowing established bands to perform in the stunning backdrop of Comlongon Castle, whilst giving newer less well known acts the opportunity to share facilities and play in front of larger audiences.
Comlongon Rocks has in a very short period proved to be incredibly popular both with musicians and the public alike and is fast being seen as one of the premier events in the region.
In an effort to deliver this simple ethos there are a number of clear objectives;
• To continually promote the use of local suppliers, firms and musicians
• To deliver a safe, family friendly event
• To continually deliver the event and all products at sensible prices
• To encourage the continual participation and involvement of newer inexperienced bands
• To actively promote Comlongon Rocks as a family based event, by allowing free access to under 14`s
• To encourage the involvement of the numerous locally based community projects and initiatives
• To develop Comlongon Rocks into the prime music event in the region
We are firmly committed to the ethos of delivering live acts to a local audience, slowly growing the event whilst adhering to the above principles. From the outset the level of support, encouragement and involvement of those who have helped highlights that there is huge enthusiasm building over this event.
It is testament that every band involved has donated their time and effort for free, just to be involved.
Having only started Comlongon Rocks 16 months ago we have been completely stunned by the level of talent and enthusiasm that this has uncovered. It is clear we have touched upon something that there is a huge demand for.
